Who We Are

Abaka, having grown up in Kariobangi, understands the hardships and challenges of growing up in the slums. He was fortunate enough to have been introduced to boxing, while living in Kariobangi, which he used as a means to get out of the slums, keep out of trouble, become disciplined and eventually land a career with the Kenyan military.

Our Vision

To be a center of excellence for emerging young boxing talents in Africa.

Our Mission

Our History
The King Abaka Boxing Foundation was registered and established in 2018 as a Not for Profit organization by world renound Kenyan boxer, Nickson Otieno Abaka. The aim of the foundation is to facilitate social responsibility among young boys and girls (9 – 18 years) in the Slums of Kariobangi via afterschool programs geared towards boxing and mentorship.
Our Objectives
The main objective of the King Abaka Boxing Foundation is to create the balance between education and sports among the target population, in addition to shedding a light on non-traditional careers. At the King Abaka Boxing foundation, we understand that the right guidance and motivation is necessary among disenfranchised youth in order to create well rounded and well-adjusted individuals. We plan to fill the gap that exists and provide the necessary tools to inspire the youth.
