Giving Back to the Society

Boxing with a Heart for Humanity

At Abaka Boxing Foundation, we believe that true greatness is not measured by titles won, but by the lives touched along the way. Giving back to the society is at the very heart of our mission — because every punch we throw, every child we train, and every partnership we build is guided by a purpose greater than sport: service to humanity.

Our community outreach initiatives are designed to uplift the people around us — particularly vulnerable families and children in areas such as Korogocho, Mathare, and other informal settlements in Nairobi. We understand that for boxing to truly change lives, it must extend beyond the gym walls and reach into homes, schools, and streets where hope is most needed.

Our Purpose

We exist not only to train champions but to build compassionate citizens who give back. Through our social responsibility programs, we encourage our young boxers to practice empathy, gratitude, and unity by actively participating in community-driven initiatives.

Our goal is to create a ripple effect — where every act of kindness, no matter how small, inspires another.

Our Initiatives

1. Community Outreach & Donations
Abaka Boxing Foundation organizes regular donation drives, distributing essential supplies such as food packages, clothing, sanitary products, and school materials to families in need. Working hand in hand with our Goodwill Ambassadors and generous partners like Copia, we’ve reached hundreds of households, reminding them that they are not forgotten.
2. Environmental Conservation
We actively engage in tree planting exercises in collaboration with organizations such as Kombgreen Solutions and Mama Elizabeth Home Korogocho. These initiatives teach our youth the importance of sustainability, responsibility, and caring for the planet — building a generation that protects both people and the environment.
3. Medical Outreach and Wellness Checks
In partnership with SASAdoctor and our Goodwill Ambassadors, we’ve organized medical screening days offering blood pressure checks, BMI tests, and health consultations for community members and trainees. Health, like boxing, is about balance — and we want every young person in our program to be fit in body, mind, and spirit.
4. Education and Exam Support
Our giving also extends to supporting education. Each year, we provide exam stationery, success cards, and motivational sessions for candidates sitting for KCPE, KCSE, and KPSEA exams. We believe education is the most powerful weapon in fighting poverty and building a hopeful future.
5. Peace and Unity Campaigns
Abaka Boxing Foundation has participated in peace dialogues such as the “Nyinyi na Sisi” Peace Campaign in Kawangware, where we used sports, art, and culture to promote harmony and non-violence — especially during sensitive election periods. Boxing becomes a language of peace, showing that strength can be used to protect, not destroy.
Partnerships and Collaborations
We are proud to partner with organizations and movements that share our vision of community empowerment. Our collaborations with Rotary Club of Lang’ata, Wazeledo Movement Africa, and Normal Difference Mind Health Project have allowed us to expand our reach — from healthcare and education to mental wellness and climate action. Each partner brings a unique strength to the table, and together, we amplify impact where it matters most — among Kenya’s most resilient yet underserved communities.
Our Future Goals
We envision a future where every Abaka-trained boxer grows into a community leader who gives back. Through sustainable programs in education, environment, and social support, we aim to establish a Community Empowerment Fund to continuously support vulnerable youth and families long after they leave the ring. Because giving is not an event — it’s a culture. And for us at Abaka Boxing Foundation, it’s part of who we are.
